CNU COLOR GUARD
Open to all students, the CNU Color Guard is a co-ed ensemble that combines dance and prop manipulation while visually defining space, time, and sound. The guard holds two auditions a year: fall (Marching) season and winter (Indoor) season. Although experience is not required, auditions are held each season to fill the spots open within the ensemble.
The CNU Marching Captain Color Guardis under the direction of Professor Brantley T. Douglas III, designer and adjudicator, and instructor Jennifer Schero, former DCI and WGI member. For more information, scroll down.

FALL SEASON

The fall marching season begins in August and lasts until November. Rehearsals take place in the late afternoon, and all members are expected to participate in a weeklong summer camp in August.
The Color Guard learns a variety of styles, from Swing to Flamenco, with a large repertoire each season. Equipment includes silks, rifles, and sabres...and anything else we can carry!
WINTER SEASON

Discovery Winter Guard competes in the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA) circuit and the Winter Guard International (WGI) regional.
In 2006 and 2007, Discovery was awarded the bronze medal at the AIA Championships in Raleigh, NC, and received the award for the top scoring college guard in Independent A Class.
Discovery is a one credit course offered at CNU, which explores competition and concepts of adjudication, instruction, and performance. This is an auditioned class with limited enrollment.
Please wear clothing to move in and flexible shoes. All auditionees will be required to audition on flag and dance. Weapon auditions will be held as well, experience required.
Information regarding winter camps and rehearsals will be given at the auditions.
